Thinking of packing it all in

I have been feeling like this for a while now i don't seem to be selling many cards these day's.Charlie used to get me good orders from his work friends but now a day's it is all foreigner's that work in the factory now so card selling has dried up except for the odd one the office staff ask for.Lesley isn't allowed to sell them in her work something to do with bringing bugs in to NHS wards.I will still do Lesley's wedding stationery for her & if Susan still wants me to do hers then i will do that to but apart from that i think i will call it a day & sell all my stuff on eBay.I was going to buy a whole load of craft stuff when we go to Florida but if I'm not getting orders then i just don't see the point.

Awww Maggie - I'm sorry to hear that you feel like this. Thanks for your comment on my blog. Could you perhaps think of other ways of selling your cards - like I have an 'at home' from time to time (admittedly I don't make money on it because I do it to fundraise, but I don't want to make money). You know where I am if I can be a listening ear. Please think again before making any decision.

I am sorry you feel that way Maggie - I make cards fro my own pleasure - I rarely sell anything these days in fact I am happy to give cards to people as "extras" so they can then send them onto others. I always find having a good stash sort out helps with the crafting blues - and that would get you ready for your holidays - I am sure you can think of a few things you would like even if you don't spend lots of money - a few things to give YOU pleasure are always worth while.

Hope you are feeling more positive soon. ps Lesleys dress is really lovely and the big day will soon be here for her (and you!) Oh and Lesleys Invites, thank you notes and menu and place names and menus and and and are a good reason to keep on crafting :-)

It's a shame you're thinking of giving up card-making, Maggie. Perhaps what you really need is a clear out of the stuff you don't use and maybe a different outlet to sell your cards - how about friends' workplaces/hairdressers/little local cafes etc. Or sometimes if I make cards to give to people personally they like them and then order some from me for themselves.

Either way a good clearout is the best thing to get your motivation going (plus think of all the space and cash it would give you for new stuff!!)

Awww Maggie .... sending you loads of hugs Hun.
We all have times like this and like Rachel I just make for my own pleasure and use; you would be surprised at how many cards this takes up over the year!!!
Please don't do anything at the moment .... maybe see how you feel after Xmas and then have a re-think. The girls have all given you some really good ideas :)
Thinking of you Maggie .... just wish I stopped by more often :( ... I have really enjoyed reading your Blog :)
Take care and hugs to you all ....and most of all keep crafting.
Love Shal. (in Bristol)xxx
